Nurse Position at Hopes Home

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at Hopes Home in Regina. As a Nurse in our Early Learning Center, you will provide hands-on medical care and a holistic approach to each child's health and well-being.

Responsibilities

Operational Duties

  • Provide medical care within the scope of practice, including comprehensive health assessments, medication administration, and wound care.
  • Collaborate with outside agencies to ensure continuity of care and develop nursing care plans for children with complex medical needs.
  • Participate in meet and greets, complete assessments, and communicate with families and caregivers to provide updates on a child's progress and health.
  • Act as a preceptor for new nurses and provide medical orientation for non-medical staff during onboarding.

Administration

  • Assist in new admissions by obtaining health history and creating medical charts for the child.
  • Keep medical charts up to date and ensure accurate documentation of observations and progress notes.
  • Complete Ministry of Education forms as required and conduct narcotic med counts daily with a partner.

Qualifications

  • Practicing License in good standing with the licensing body: SALPN, SRNA, or RPNA
  • Up to date First Aid, CPR Level BLS, and TLR training an asset
  • Minimum 2 years of pediatric experience preferred

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong collaborator with staff, families, and outside agencies
  • Ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships and communicate effectively
  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills

Working Conditions

  • Monday to Friday workdays with varied start and end times between 7am and 5:30pm
  • Physically able to safely work with objects or persons of varying sizes and handle equipment and technology
