This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Package Handler Specialist at Fedex Canada. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient handling of packages.

Job Description:

We are seeking highly motivated and detail-oriented individuals who are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. As a Package Handler Specialist, you will be responsible for loading and unloading packages onto or from delivery vehicles, trailers, pallets, conveyor system carts, and load gratings. You will also lift, carry, push, and pull packages on a continuous and repetitive basis for approximately 3-5 hours per shift, with the potential to work one or more shifts per day.

You will determine the appropriate conveyor system by scanning packages, reading labels and charts, verifying numbers, and memorizing information, and sort packages accordingly. Additionally, you will perform other duties as assigned, such as training new colleagues in effective package handling techniques and providing feedback on proper package handling techniques.

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • ">
  • A strong ability to understand and follow instructions regarding work duties and safety methods">
  • An ability to discern numbers and information in order to sort packages correctly">
  • A valid driver's license and Department of Transportation (DOT) file (for those operating switching equipment)">
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work well in a fast-paced team environment">
  • Ability to train multiple peer Package Handlers simultaneously (for PH Trainer role)">
  • Satisfactory completion and maintenance of Federal Express Corporation (FEC) Airlift Consolidation Gateway Training, as well as government-regulated and required Indirect Air Carrier (IAC) training (for PH - Air role)">

Working Conditions:

This role requires working in hot and cold temperatures and an environment with loud noise. You should be able to lift and carry between 5 and 50 pounds, and may need to travel occasionally. However, we do not require extensive travel for this position.
