About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Sprinkler Service Technician to join our team at Johnson Controls. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing top-notch service and repair of sprinkler systems for commercial, industrial, and residential applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to service calls from our Service Resource Center, including a brief description of equipment/system malfunctions.
  • Communicate with customers to understand equipment/system problems and provide solutions.
  • Perform service and repairs on sprinkler systems, including wet steel, copper, and CPVC systems.
  • Follow prescribed troubleshooting procedures and refer to technical manuals to diagnose and repair equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and operational manuals to ensure accurate repairs.
  • Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with customers and district staff.
  • Electronically complete Service Acknowledgements with proper coding and obtain customer signatures.
  • Participate in a scheduled on-call rotation.

Requirements

  • Sprinkler Fitter Red Seal Certified.
  • 5+ years of experience in the Fire Sprinkler/Suppression industry.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, submittals, and operational manuals.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Capable of performing physical labor, including carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs.
  • Able to work in unusual positions, such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 40 feet.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, to meet customer requirements.
  • Able to participate in an on-call rotation schedule.
  • Overnight travel required.
  • Demonstrate a high level of customer service.
  • Maintain truck inventory to ensure timely response to customer needs.
  • Ability to adhere to, implement, and follow safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and ability to learn quickly.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and driving record that meets company requirements.
  • Able to pass a pre-employment background check.

Preferred Qualifications

  • ASTTBC Certified in WA.
  • BACKFLOW Certification.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly base rate is $45.16, determined by union Local 170 Agreement. Benefits are provided through the union, aligned with a collective bargaining agreement.
