Principal Leadership Opportunity at Matawa Education

Matawa Education is seeking a dedicated and experienced Elementary Vice Principal to join our team. As a key member of our education authority, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic and personal growth of our students.
Key Responsibilities- Provide leadership and guidance to teachers and staff to ensure high-quality education and student outcomes.
- Develop and implement effective educational programs and policies that align with our authority's goals and objectives.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and community members to promote student success and well-being.
- Manage and supervise school operations, including budgeting, facilities, and personnel.
- Stay up-to-date with educational trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements to ensure our authority remains compliant and innovative.
- Membership in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) or ability to register.
- Appreciation and understanding of Aboriginal culture and traditions.
- Experience teaching in a fly-in First Nations community (population 1,200) or similar setting.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Flexibility, patience, and a willingness to adapt to changing circumstances.
- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and parents.
