Job Description

As Senior Automotive Accounting Manager, you will oversee all accounting activities and manage financial reporting processes. Your responsibilities will include streamlining and integrating accounting systems and procedures, providing business operations consultation, and identifying areas for improvement. You will also prepare monthly dealership statements, account reconciliations, and month-end tasks, as well as generate quarterly consolidated statements and compliance documents for Scotiabank. In addition, you will supervise accounting staff and manage deal processing, accounts receivable/payable, handle payroll processing, and administer HR processes for new hires and terminations. Furthermore, you will oversee administration staff and ensure the smooth operation of our accounting department.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will require 3-5 years of automotive bookkeeping/accounting experience, a diploma in accounting or related field, and experience with Dealer Management Software (knowledge of PBS would be an asset). Strong systems skills, including advanced Excel knowledge, are essential, as is the ability to focus under pressure and work in a team environment to meet reporting deadlines. Experience in a Supervisory Role in an Accounting Environment would be an asset, as would detail-oriented Time Management skills, self-motivation, and the ability to work well with others.
