Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Environmental Sustainability Specialist to join our team in Ontario. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing project-related technical documents, including environmental reports, technical specifications, work plans, and cost estimates. They will also be involved in field work and oversight associated with environmental investigations and remediation activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare project-related technical documents, including environmental reports, technical specifications, work plans, and cost estimates.
  • Conduct field work and oversight associated with environmental investigations and remediation activities, including site investigations, contractor management, drilling, soil sampling, well installation, groundwater sampling, excavation, contract administration, and vapour sampling.
  • Coordinate and schedule project-related work, including working with other GHD staff, external contractors, and public entities to obtain permits.

Requirements

  • Relevant Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or equivalent.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Ontario is an asset.
  • 0-3 years of experience in the environmental engineering field, with experience working in a construction setting being an asset.
  • Willingness to travel for field work, including working long hours, in inclement weather conditions, and in remote locations.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a high degree of attention to detail.
  • Flexibility with project types and responsibilities.
  • Excellent English writing and verbal communication skills to effectively express technical information to multiple audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and be highly communicative.
  • Ability to manage your schedule.
  • Valid driver's license, with an MVR check performed prior to hire.
