Environmental Compliance Specialist

Claystone Waste Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Compliance Specialist to ensure our operations meet all local, provincial, and federal regulations related to waste management and environmental protection.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee and manage all aspects of regulatory compliance, including local, provincial, and federal regulations.
- Lead site inspections and audits to identify and mitigate potential compliance issues.
- Maintain accurate records and reporting, including documentation of operations, environmental incidents, and compliance data.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on compliance-related matters.
- Manage environmental incidents, including spills, and ensure corrective actions are promptly implemented and reported.
- Act as a liaison with regulatory authorities, handling approvals, coordinating inspections, and overseeing responses to compliance issues.
- Develop and implement policies that support compliance and reduce environmental risks in CWL's operations.
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 7-10 years of experience in a compliance role, preferably in the environmental or waste management sector.
- Strong understanding of environmental regulations, particularly those related to waste management in Alberta.
- Leadership skills, including the ability to lead and mentor teams, manage projects, and work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
- Attention to detail, with the ability to produce accurate, timely work products.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with various levels of staff, regulatory officials, and the public.
