Job Description
This strategic position requires a seasoned tax professional with a strong background in income tax compliance, consulting experience in the corporate tax field, and a proven track record of managing large-scale tax projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing the filing of regular tax returns, collaborating with finance and accounting teams, identifying financial risks, and coordinating with external tax advisors.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain tax plans, compliance procedures, and risk assessment frameworks
- Manage and oversee the filing of regular tax returns, including income tax, GST, and other direct or indirect taxes
- Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate implementation of tax strategies and policies
- Identify, track, and report potential financial risks or issues
- Coordinate quarterly and year-end calculations and disclosures related to provision for income taxes, including deferred tax calculations and reporting
- Assist with special projects, such as reviewing tax positions of potential acquisitions and determining tax implications
Required Skills and Qualifications
This role demands a self-starter with 4-6 years of consulting experience in the corporate tax field, including 2-4 years as a manager or senior manager. A university education in accounting, an active CPA license, and at least 5 years of experience in the manufacturing industry are essential. Knowledge of SAP and bilingual skills (French and English) are significant assets.
