We are seeking a reliable and team-oriented individual to join our kitchen team at Cheryl's Country Kitchen as a Kitchen Assistant. This is a permanent position, working 30 to 40 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the preparation and presentation of food and beverages in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including work surfaces, equipment, and storage areas.
- Receive and store supplies, including refrigerated and frozen items.
- Participate in food preparation, including portioning, wrapping, and garnishing.
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment, adhering to food safety and handling procedures.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to achieve efficient service and high-quality food presentation.
- Ability to work in a team environment and maintain a positive attitude.
- Reliability and punctuality in adhering to work schedules and deadlines.
- Basic math skills and attention to detail in handling cash and operating a point-of-sale system.
- Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
- Availability to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, afternoons, and weekends.
- Previous experience in a food service or hospitality environment.
- Knowledge of food safety and handling procedures.
- Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and customers.
This is a fast-paced kitchen environment with repetitive tasks and a focus on providing excellent customer service. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment and maintain a positive attitude in a dynamic and ever-changing work environment.
