At HyLife, Canada's leading pork producer, we are excited to offer a great job opportunity for an Engineering Co-op Student to join our team.

As a Co-op Student, you will have the opportunity to work on various engineering projects, gain hands-on experience, and develop your skills in a dynamic and innovative work environment.

  • Analytical and root cause problem-solving skills to support improvement projects
  • Understanding and value stream mapping key processes
  • Supporting the assessment of process performance against key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Documenting processes, collecting and analyzing data, and interacting with employees and leaders
  • Assisting in the determination and documentation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Assisting with the development of equipment Preventative Maintenance (PM) programs

To succeed in this role, you need to be:

  • Currently enrolled in a university cooperative education program
  • 3rd or 4th year Mechanical, Biosystems, or Industrial engineering education
  • Experience in food processing or agriculture is an asset
  • Experience in leading the implementation of Lean initiatives is an asset
  • Proficient in MS Office applications and AutoCAD
  • A sharp business sense and the ability to identify business opportunities
  • Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
