About the Role

The BC Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Health Psychologist to join our team. As a Clinical Health Psychologist, you will be responsible for providing psychological assessments, treatment, and education to patients with chronic health conditions and mental health issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct brief psychological assessments of clients using standardized and evidence-based interview and assessment procedures.
  • Provide short-term treatment to patients identified to be at risk for developing chronic disease or in the early stages of chronic disease to make lifestyle cognitive and behavioural modifications.
  • Develop and facilitate group-based treatment programs.
  • Maintain electronic and paper patient records by documenting assessment findings, treatment plan, client participation in the program as well as treatment progress outcomes and discharge plans.
  • Coordinate with medical and mental health providers to ensure wrap-around and comprehensive care for clients requiring a higher level of mental health assessment and treatment.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from a recognized and accredited learning institution.
  • Current registration with the College of Psychologists of British Columbia or registration with the College within one year of employment.
  • Two years recent related experience working in primary care or similar settings.
