About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a Cyber Security Co-op Student to join our team and work on various cybersecurity initiatives. As a co-op student, you will have the chance to gain hands-on experience in a real-world setting and develop your skills in security remediation, monitoring, and response.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work on security remediation and improvement initiatives
  • Monitor, investigate, and respond to security alerts
  • Assist with the maintenance and operation of security tools, including vulnerability scanners, SIEM, DNS filtering, and endpoint protection
  • Assist with the detection, troubleshooting, and resolution of misconfigurations and communication errors with endpoint solutions
  • Assist with the creation and documentation of security operation processes, such as data flow diagrams and incident response playbooks
Requirements
  • Pursuing a post-secondary degree or similar in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Previous experience in IT security and/or cyber security operations
  • A working knowledge of Active Directory, Azure AD, and Microsoft 365 security services
  • Knowledge of relational database concepts and ability to write basic queries in SQL and/or KQL
  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP network fundamentals
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, Ruby, PowerShell, or Bash
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Superior information gathering, analysis, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks and deliver excellent results with minimal supervision
