About the Role

Alberta Health Services is seeking a skilled Electroneurophysiology Technologist II to join our team in Calgary, Alberta.

Job Overview

We are looking for a highly analytical and detail-oriented individual with experience in Clinical Neurophysiology Labs. As an Electroneurophysiology (EEG) Technologist, you will be responsible for determining which ENP tests to perform based on clinical history, findings, and protocols.

You will work closely with surgeons to provide feedback for early detection of intraoperative injury, allowing for immediate corrective measures. Additionally, you will resolve unusual or complex cases referred by the EEG Technologist I's or refer them to the appropriate individual(s).

Responsibilities

  • Determine which ENP tests to perform based on clinical history, findings, and protocols
  • Provide feedback to surgeons for early detection of intraoperative injury
  • Resolve unusual or complex cases referred by the EEG Technologist I's or refer them to the appropriate individual(s)
  • Implement, maintain, and assess approved quality control procedures
  • Participate in the recruitment and selection of staff and coordinate the orientation of new employees
  • Provide technical and problem-solving advice to other EEG Technologists

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Active or eligible registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT)
  • Graduation from a formal electrophysiology program or equivalent training
  • Successful completion of Canadian Board of Registration of EEG Technologists (CBRET) examinations or equivalent
  • English language fluency to meet ACMDTT policy
  • Current CPR certification
  • Proven leadership, teamwork, and time management skills
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Ability to handle the physical requirements of the job: prolonged sitting/standing, pushing/pulling of equipment, assisting with patient transfers, sustained awkward postures involved in day-to-day work activities

Preferred Qualifications

A minimum of 3-5 years' work experience in a Clinical Neurophysiology Lab is required. ACMDTT ictal SPECT injection enhanced practice authorization is desired. EMG experience is preferred.

Compensation

The estimated salary for this position is $90,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience. Comprehensive benefits and opportunities for growth are also available.
