Job Title: Network Administrator

Georgian College is seeking a highly skilled Network Administrator to join our Information Technology team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting our college-wide LAN, WAN, Internet edge, and cloud network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and deploy network systems, including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless APs, and NAC solutions, to ensure compliance with PCI and Georgian procedures.
  • Provide resolutions and final-level support for issues escalated from front-line support, researching solutions, diagnosing problems, and designing/modifying systems as needed.
  • Implement, maintain, and troubleshoot telephony systems, including phone, conferencing, and video services.
  • Design networking connectivity and support network operations in the cloud.
  • Maintain current specialized knowledge of computer and communication hardware and software.
  • Conduct presentations and training sessions for staff, students, and colleagues.
Requirements:
  • Three-year post-secondary diploma/degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Engineering, or a relevant field.
  • CCNP – Cisco Certified Network Professional (Routing and Switching/Enterprise Infrastructure).
  • A minimum of five years' IT experience with designing, architecting, and deploying robust, redundant, and high-availability network infrastructure.
  • Experience with networking technologies, including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless Access Points.
  • Strong understanding of the OSI reference model.
