Job Summary

VHA Home HealthCare is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our team in the St. Thomas and Elgin County Area. As an Occupational Therapist at VHA, you will be responsible for assessing and providing consultation, recommendations, and interventions to a diverse group of pediatric clients in their homes and/or schools.

About the Role

This is a rewarding opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our clients. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality, client-centered care. Your expertise will be essential in helping our clients achieve independence and promote their overall well-being.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Assess and implement occupational therapy interventions in accordance with professional practice guidelines and standards established by VHA and the relevant regulatory college.
  2. Implement client interventions based on assessment information, client input, and in conjunction with the client's integrated care plan.
  3. Ensure that services provided are best practice, evidence-based, and evaluated through the routine use of valid and reliable outcome measures.
  4. Ensure coordinated delivery of care through ongoing communication with all members of the client's team regarding plans and schedules for interventions.
  5. Document all assessment findings, treatment plans, progress, and discharge summaries of interventions as required by the profession, referral source, and the organization.
Requirements
  • Degree in Occupational Therapy from a recognized school of Occupational Therapy.
  • Member in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario.
  • Valid Driver's License with access to a vehicle.
  • Compassionate and empathetic individual with strong communication skills.
  • Self-driven with ability to work independently and manage caseload effectively.
  • Skilled in electronic documentation and proficient in using technology to support client care.
Compensation Package
