About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced academic instructor to teach various accounting courses at Thompson Rivers University. The successful candidate will have a strong background in accounting and teaching experience, with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to students.

Responsibilities
  • Teach accounting courses to undergraduate students
  • Develop and deliver course materials, including lectures, assignments, and exams
  • Evaluate student performance and provide feedback
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to curriculum development
Requirements

To be considered for this position, applicants must have a doctoral degree in accounting or a related field, with experience teaching related courses. Alternatively, an MBA or Master's degree in accounting with a Canadian CPA designation and significant coursework in related areas may be considered. The successful candidate will also have strong teaching potential, as evidenced by student evaluations, and significant related work experience.

About the Department

The Department of Accounting, Finance, and Law at Thompson Rivers University is a supportive and collegial team, with approximately 20 full-time departmental faculty members and numerous part-time instructors from the local business community. The department delivers core courses to all BBA, graduate, and post-baccalaureate diploma students and manages the Accounting and Finance Majors and Minors and the Post-baccalaureate Diplomas in Accounting and Finance.
