About the Role

We are seeking a qualified and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Little Champs Day Care Centre Inc. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about providing high-quality care and education to young children.

Job Description
  • This permanent full-time position involves developing and implementing child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • The ideal candidate will lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children on outings to local points of interest.
  • A key aspect of this role is encouraging children to express their creativity through various mediums such as art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity.
  • The successful candidate will guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits.
  • Additionally, they will observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents or guardians.
  • Attendance at staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children is also required.
  • The Early Childhood Educator will establish and maintain collaborative relationships with colleagues and community service providers working with children.
  • They will plan and maintain a safe environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children.
  • Responsibilities also include planning and organizing activities for school-age children in child-care programs before and after regular school hours.
  • Supervision and coordination of activities of other early childhood educators and assistants are also expected.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A relevant certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years is required.
  • Experience of 1 year to less than 2 years in a related field is preferred.
  • The ideal candidate will possess efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral communication, flexibility, reliability, and a commitment to teamwork and values.
  • Creativity and punctuality are essential qualities for success in this role.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is between $50,000 to $60,000 CAD, depending on qualifications and experience.
