Key Responsibilities
  • Receive and thoroughly examine electronic plans from clients to identify construction details and project requirements.
  • Utilize Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software to extract accurate measurements and quantities for construction materials.
  • Complete material takeoffs for estimating purposes and provide detailed reports to the estimation and construction teams.
  • Work closely with project managers, estimators, and construction teams to understand project specifications and requirements.
  • Maintain organized records of material takeoffs and related documentation.
  • Generate comprehensive reports for estimation and construction teams, highlighting key details and quantities.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Associate degree or Technical School Certificate in Electrical Design, Solar Design, Architectural/Engineering Drafting, or related degree or equivalent field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in the drafting/design of electrical power/distribution systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of civil grading and electrical activities, preferably in wind and solar energy projects.
  • Ability to compile data from site plans of various data sets (GIS, PDF, GoogleEarth).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D and ArcGIS software and other relevant tools.
