Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and energetic Fitness Instructor and Class Leader to join our team at Life Time. As a Fitness Instructor and Class Leader, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality group fitness classes that cater to diverse fitness levels and interests.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a charismatic and engaging individual to lead dynamic group fitness classes, foster a sense of community among participants, and contribute to the overall success of our fitness programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create a positive and motivating class environment by providing clear instructions, demonstrations, and feedback to participants.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of various group fitness formats, including cardio, strength training, and flexibility exercises.
  • Lead group fitness classes that are engaging, challenging, and tailored to meet the needs of diverse participant populations.
  • Engage with participants before and after classes to understand their goals, provide support, and encourage continued participation.
  • Maintain a clean and organized studio space, ensuring equipment is properly sanitized and stored.
  • Promote Life Time's products, services, and programs to participants, encouraging them to explore additional offerings.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to develop new class formats, special events, and promotional initiatives.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology, Sports Medicine, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a group fitness instructor or related role.
  • Certifications in Group Exercise Instruction (e.g., ACE, NASM, AFAA) and CPR/AED certification.
  • Ability to perform aerobic activities for duration of classes, which may include standing, walking, climbing, balancing, running, crawling, and kneeling.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally more.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to interact with participants of diverse backgrounds and fitness levels.

Preferred Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology, Sports Medicine, or related field.
  • Experience with heart rate training and ability to use relevant technology.

Earned Salary

The estimated salary range for this role is $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
