Job Summary:

The Pharmacy Technician will be an integral member of the Pharmacy team at Lakeridge Health, working to ensure patient safety and the accuracy, quality, integrity, and timeliness of pharmaceutical products and releases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Manager, Pharmacy, the Pharmacy Technician will be accountable for the technical aspects of drug distribution.
  • Ensuring the accuracy and quality of pharmaceutical products and releases.
  • Working effectively in a team environment to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
  • Providing excellent customer service to patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Participating in regular in-service education and training to maintain and improve skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:

  • Registration with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP) as a Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPHT).
  • Graduate of a CCAPP (Canadian Council for Accreditation of Pharmacy Programs) Accredited Pharmacy Technician Education Program.
  • Knowledge of inpatient pharmacy dispensing processes, traditional and unit dose.
  • Knowledge of pharmacy automation, including experience with unit dose packaging and automated dispensing cabinets.
  • Demonstrated accuracy, organizational skills, problem-solving, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Proven effective verbal and written communication.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Computer skills related to Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.

  • The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and OPSEU Local 348.
