Fire Protection Systems Designer

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Fire Protection Systems Designer to join our team at Viking. As a key member of our design team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of automatic fire sprinkler systems.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and preparing drawings for fire protection systems using AutoCAD, Revit, and HydraCAD software. You will work closely with project managers and other trades to ensure seamless project coordination and timely completion.
Main Responsibilities
- Design and prepare drawings for fire protection systems considering architectural, structural, and mechanical plans;
- Reproduce and draw sketches, drawings, and plans using AutoCAD, Revit, and HydraCAD software;
- Arrange sprinklers on drawings in accordance with current standards;
- Verify drawings against established procedures;
- BIM coordination and project modeling;
- Participate in project meetings with project managers and other trades for project coordination;
- Order materials based on coordinated drawings using HydraList;
- Conduct field surveys for installation drawings.
Requirements
- Diploma in Fire Protection Engineering Technology or Design, or equivalent relevant experience;
- Minimum 5 years of fire protection drafting experience;
- Proficiency in computer-assisted design with AutoCAD;
- Knowledge of HydraCAD (an asset);
- Knowledge of standards and codes governing design and installation of automatic fire protection systems;
- Valid driver's license and vehicle.
Compensation and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary range of $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience. Additionally, we provide:
