Job Title: Geotechnical Engineering Graduate - Ontario

AECOM is seeking a motivated Geotechnical Engineering Graduate to join our team in Ontario. As a Geotechnical Engineering Graduate, you will play a key role in conducting field-related work, including coordination with subcontractors, conducting site visits, and monitoring of construction activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct field-related work, including coordination with subcontractors, conducting site visits, and monitoring of construction activities.
  2. Collect and analyze data under the supervision of a professional engineer.
  3. Conduct engineering design under the supervision of a professional engineer.
  4. Create designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of a professional engineer.
  5. Use computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
  6. Build analytic and design skills.
  7. Perform work in accordance with agreed-upon budget and schedule under supervision.
  8. Analyze and prepare recommendations and reports for projects relating to foundation design, including settlement analysis, seepage, and slope stability.
  9. Communicate effectively with others within the team and with internal and external clients.
  10. Support senior engineers with competitive proposals and work plans.
  11. Provide guidance and troubleshooting for quality control testing and performance of earthworks such as fill compaction and excavations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Geological Engineering with emphasis on Geotechnical Engineering.

Preferred Skills:

  • Co-op terms of construction administration or related experience within the civil, geological, or geotechnical engineering field.
  • Valid and unrestricted driver's license.
  • Willing and interested in working overtime and weekends.
  • Experience in a team-related job setting is an asset.
  • Knowledge and experience with various geotechnical software, such as Geostudios, Ensoft, Settle 3D, etc.
  • Construction oversight, QA/QC, contract administration.
  • Coordination of designs with drafting teams and/or personal proficiency with AutoCAD.
  • Highly developed written communication, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills; conduct yourself with integrity, work within multi-disciplined teams, deal with complex issues, and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Have a high level of initiative and enthusiasm for getting things done.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite; excellent knowledge of Excel and Word.
