Job SummaryThe Kobor Lab is a leading research group focused on understanding the impact of early-life experiences on human health and development. We are seeking a talented bioinformatician to join our team and contribute to our research efforts.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and contribute to the analysis of high-dimensional datasets for genotyping, DNA methylation, and mRNA expression.
- Develop and implement novel bioinformatics pipelines and tools to integrate phenotype and environmental exposures with genomic data.
- Collaborate with researchers and clinicians to design and execute research studies, and to develop and implement new research methods.
- Provide supervision and mentorship to junior staff and students, and contribute to the development of the lab's research strategy.
- Stay up-to-date with current developments and trends in bioinformatics and genomics, and apply this knowledge to improve our research methods and outcomes.
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline, such as genetics, computational biology, or bioinformatics.
- Minimum of three years of related experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent programming skills, with a strong background in R and experience with high-performance computing.
- Strong understanding of statistical modeling and tests, and experience with data visualization and communication.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, and to communicate complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
