About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced MEP Manager to join our team at EllisDon. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for managing the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) scopes of projects from conception to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage safety, quality, and conformance to contract documents for MEP scopes.
- Support preconstruction activities to ensure consistency with project procurement models.
- Provide constructability and value engineering reviews.
- Collaborate with project managers and superintendents to develop schedules and sequencing of work.
- Lead M&E teams (internal and external) and mentor junior/intermediate MEP resources.
- Implement management processes for mechanical and electrical RFIs and shop drawings.
- Manage risk associated with MEP scopes and assist in developing project budgets.
- Contract and scope development, evaluation, and identification of scope gaps.
- Work collaboratively with electrical/mechanical/controls subcontractors to ensure project success.
- Monitor and provide updates for MEP work within overall schedules.
- Support project commissioning authorities and define roles and responsibilities within construction teams.
- Evaluate MEP monthly progress draws for accuracy and adherence to project cash flow models.
Requirements:
- Engineering/Mechanical degree or equivalent combination of technical training and industry memberships.
- Minimum 10 years of mechanical and electrical construction experience.
- Working knowledge of current mechanical and electrical engineering systems, principles, and practices.
- Ability to proactively identify and document problems/conflicts and effectively manage and resolve them.
