About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Drywall Craftsman to join our team at Mahal Construction And Renovations. In this position, you will be responsible for installing and finishing drywall in various settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply multiple coats of compound to seams and joints, then sand them down for a smooth finish.
  • Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners from damage.
  • Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and insert panels to create acoustical and coffered ceilings.
  • Fill holes, cracks, and nail indentations with joint compound using a trowel and broad knife.
  • Measure, cut, fit, and install drywall sheets according to specifications.
  • Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists.
  • Sand excess compound off and allow it to dry before applying additional coats.
  • Tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound.
Work Environment

This is a physically demanding role that requires regular bending, crouching, and kneeling. You will work in dusty and noisy environments, often for extended periods. Additionally, you may be required to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) as part of your duties.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • You should have at least 1 year of experience working in drywall installation or a related field.
  • Must be able to work a standard 40-50 hour week.
  • Your primary language of work is English.
  • Must be willing to wear personal protective equipment, including a hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, and steel-toed boots.
Compensation

The estimated salary range for this position is between $45,000 and $60,000 per annum, depending on location and experience. At Mahal Construction And Renovations, we offer competitive compensation packages to ensure that our employees receive fair remuneration for their hard work.
