Job Description

Job Title: Accountant - Financial Analyst

Job Summary:

Optima Living is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Accountant to join our team. As an Accountant, you will be responsible for assisting with the preparation and monitoring of budget variance analysis, cash flow, financial reporting, revenue audits, and internal controls.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist senior accountants in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual closings
  • Prepare month-end journal entries and bank reconciliations
  • Month-end rent roll reconciliation and credit card reconciliations
  • Track and monitor accounts receivables and issue invoices
  • Assist with payroll reconciliations, including salary expenses, vacation/sick time accruals, benefits, etc.
  • Arrange for completion and filing of monthly and quarterly WCB and GST tax filings
  • Other duties as assigned to support accounting and operational requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

  • One to two (1-2) years of accounts receivable and bookkeeping experience is required
  • Completion of accounting or finance diploma or degree is required
  • Superior interpersonal skills to interact with internal employees and external residents
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, demonstrating strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Strong technical aptitude and work experience with technical applications and systems, including Excel and accounting software
  • Experience with multi-site senior housing is preferred
  • Experience with property management is preferred
  • Experience with Yardi is preferred
