Senior Estimator

Michael Page International Canada Limited is seeking a highly skilled Senior Estimator to join their team in Ottawa. As a Senior Estimator, you will play a critical role in managing multiple tenders and overseeing all aspects of the estimate and preparation for closing.
Key Responsibilities:- Estimate Management: Review drawings and specifications, identify divisions of work, and study plans and specifications to clarify location and document discrepancies.
- Tender Preparation: Organize plans and specifications for display, distribution, and posting on the company website. Complete pre-bid forms and set up summary sheets.
- Sub-Trade Coordination: Solicit bidders, prepare sub-trade request lists for distribution, and note special trades to be personally called.
- Estimating and Budgeting: Conduct cut and fill take-offs, excavation backfill, site servicing, and formwork and concrete quantities and pricing. Prepare unit-rate tenders and perform take-offs in direct relation to units.
- Site Visits and Communication: Attend site visits, take pictures, notes, and interact with owners and consultants.
- Tender Closing: Prepare closing sheets, identify risks and opportunities, and prepare tender forms in advance.
- Education: Engineering or construction management degree, technical college diploma, or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience.
- Experience: At least 5+ years of preconstruction/estimating experience on large-scale projects, preferably with an ICI focus.
- Skills: Proven ability to diagnose, analyze, and develop solutions to complex issues. Analytical and strong problem-solving ability, effective verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational skills, and high attention to detail.
- Competitive Salary: Up to $140,000 (depending on experience)
