Cashroom Clerk Job Summary

The Cashroom Clerk is a key member of the SSP Group team, responsible for managing the cash handling process for our restaurants in Pearson International Airport. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the property safe, including petty cash, cash drawers, and bank deposits.
• Conduct regular cash audits and reconcile cash daily from prior days' business.
• Prepare bank deposits, change orders, and reconcile cash with amounts received in bank on a weekly basis.
• Accurately reconcile daily cash and vouchers of sales associates through Lynx BM, reporting variances and closing the week on LynxBM as per set weekly deadline.
• Invoice vouchers to airlines weekly and follow up for payment.
• Maintain access controls on CI server, including creating access for new recruits, deletion for separations, and modification of access as necessary.
• Notify Director and Controller immediately about any cash discrepancies.
• Prepare all required paperwork for financial reporting as required by Controller.

Requirements:

• Degree or diploma with specialization in Accounting strongly preferred (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum two years of cash room experience; or cash handling experience in a financial institution.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work on site at both Pearson International and Billy Bishop Airport locations.
