Heavy Equipment Operator

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team at EVRAZ North America. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient handling of ferrous materials. Your primary responsibilities will include operating and maintaining heavy, motorized equipment, and collaborating with our scale operator and office staff to minimize traffic congestion in the yard.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Mechanical troubleshooting and light repair capabilities
  • Loading and unloading of various ferrous and non-ferrous metals
  • Observance and practice of all company safety rules and policies
  • Safe and effective operation of heavy equipment
  • General labourer duties as required
  • Reporting incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage
  • Excellent oral communication and good judgement
  • Ability to operate equipment in tight spaces
  • Punctual and available to work overtime on Saturdays as needed

Requirements:



  • High School or equivalent
  • Operating heavy equipment considered an asset
  • Ability to work in various temperatures
  • Meet the physical demands of the position
  • Work in variable weather conditions
