About the Role

We are seeking an experienced VP Engineering to lead our engineering team in developing cutting-edge technology for remote sensing and machine learning. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for articulating a compelling technical strategy and developing a high-performing team that can effectively execute that strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and lead a high-performing engineering team that works remotely from multiple countries and time zones.
  • Develop and execute a technical strategy for the next 12-24 months, aligning with the company's overall goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and execute against company-wide OKRs.
  • Foster an inclusive culture where everyone can do their best work, and create strong lines of communication within the team and with other key parts of the business.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in leading technical teams through big changes, with a track record of scaling teams successfully through transitions.
  • Deep understanding of software development processes and a product-centric approach to building technology.
  • Experience working on complex, machine learning-based products, with a bonus for geospatial or remote sensing experience.
  • Strong network and ability to attract and develop a diverse team, with a focus on building a high-performing, inclusive, and caring culture.

We are a remote-first company with a team of 62 people from all over the world, representing 15 nationalities. We work remotely from 9 different countries and are looking for candidates who are also living and working in one of these countries: United States, Netherlands, United Kingdom, Ireland, Estonia, Portugal, Spain, France, Sweden, and Canada. We meet up once a year in-person for our team gathering event and offer the option to occasionally meet up for in-person collaboration.
