Experienced Labourer

Park Paving Ltd. is a leading road construction contractor in Edmonton, seeking experienced labourers to join our asphalt paving division for the 2024 construction season.
Job Summary:We are looking for skilled labourers to assist in various tasks, including loading tools, measuring and marking manholes, supplying asphalt, and cleaning up job sites.
Key Responsibilities:- Loading tools from the one-tonne truck onto the paver
- Measuring and marking manholes and water valves prior to paving
- Supplying asphalt to the rakerman as required
- Cleaning up asphalt piles left by the rakerman
- Assisting in site cleanup, including cleaning rock piles, sweeping walks and gutters, and picking up garbage
- Sweeping the end joints for the roller operators
- Raising manholes and water valves with the rakerman as required
- Hand tacking joints when required
- Keeping tools organized and accounted for at the end of the day
- Keeping the one-tonne truck clean and organized at all times
- Filling sample bags as required or directed
- Operating the bobcat if qualified to do so or under supervision of a competent operator
- Assisting with cleaning or moving barricades for the tack truck driver
- Helping clean the paver at the end of the day
- Valid driver's license
- Strong drive to contribute to the team's success
- Ability to work in a physically demanding, high-pressure environment
- Ability to maintain a safety-minded and high-accountability work culture
- Positive and respectful work environment
Successful candidates will be required to work in a physically demanding environment, with a focus on safety and productivity.
Compensation:The pay scale for this position is $22 - $25 per hour.
