Description:

As an Occupational Therapist with Alberta Health Services, you will provide evidence-based services to individuals, groups, or communities. Your role will involve direct service provision, consultation, education, and advocacy, as well as collaboration with healthcare teams. You will work with clients to enable meaningful occupations, including self-care, productivity, and leisure, and support them in achieving optimal functional abilities and independence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive services, including triage, screening, consultation, assessment, diagnosis, goal setting, treatment, prevention, self-management, education, case management, referral, transition support, and collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Work with clients and families to determine, implement, and evaluate rehabilitation plans.
  • Participate in interprofessional teams to build awareness, enrich support, and engage in quality improvement.
  • Contribute to quality improvement and professional community development, and participate in peer mentoring and supervising students.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of a bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program. Registration with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT). Current BLS certification.
