Wimpy's Diner is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Kitchen Helper to join our team. As a Kitchen Helper, you will be responsible for assisting in the preparation and presentation of food and beverages in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in food preparation, including washing, peeling, and cutting vegetables and fruits.
  • Operate dishwashers to wash dishes, glassware, and flatware.
  • Carry and replace linen, clean and sanitize items such as dishwasher mats, carts, and waste disposal units.
  • Clear and clean tables, trays, and chairs.
  • Load buspans and trays.
  • Replenish condiments and other supplies at tables and serving areas.
  • Sanitize and wash dishes and other items by hand.
  • Scour pots and pans.
  • Keep records of the quantities of food used.
  • Package take-out food.
  • Portion and wrap foods.
  • Prepare, heat, and finish simple food items.
  • Serve customers at counters or buffet tables.
  • Stock refrigerators and salad bars.
  • Take customers' orders.
  • Use manual and electrical appliances to clean, peel, slice, and trim foodstuffs.
  • Clean and sanitize the kitchen, including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances, and equipment.
  • Handle and store cleaning products.
  • Receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage areas.
  • Remove kitchen garbage and trash.
  • Sharpen kitchen knives.
  • Sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors.
Requirements:
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
  • Experience: 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a similar role.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical stamina to handle heavy loads and stand for extended periods.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Reliability and dependability.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work as part of a team.
Work Environment:

Wimpy's Diner is a fast-paced and dynamic work environment. As a Kitchen Helper, you will be required to work in a team environment, with a focus on providing excellent customer service and maintaining high standards of food safety and quality.

The primary language spoken in the workplace is English.

Hours:

The working hours for this position are 35 hours per week.
