Job Title: Welder/Fitter

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Welder/Fitter to join our team at Spirit Omega Inc. in Calgary, Alberta. The successful candidate will be responsible for reading and interpreting blueprints, operating manual or semi-automatic welding equipment, and completing assigned work within a given timeframe.

Key Responsibilities:

Reads and interprets blueprints or welding process specifications and welding symbols.
Operates manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as flux-cored arc welding (FCAW), and shielded metal arc welding (SMAW).
Working on skids, handrails, ladders, and platforms
Removes welds using the Air Arc Gouging process.
Completes assigned work within a given timeframe and according to specifications.
Accurately completes time sheets, weight sheets, hazard analysis sheets, etc.
Operates manual flame-cutting equipment.
Needs to adjust welding equipment and tooling according to work specifications.
Completes housekeeping duties in assigned area or project area daily and/or when required.

Requirements:

Experience required: 2nd year apprentice, 3rd year apprentice, Journeyperson and or experience fitters.
PPE Required: Steel Toe boots, basic hand tools (air die grinder, extension core, MIG pliers, paint scraper). leather tongue boot cover, welding helmet and gloves
Must have a reliable source of transportation.
Specialization in structural construction welding is considered an asset.
Any position requires CWB FCAW/MCAW ticket - We look for "S" class CWB tickets, not "FW" class. If the candidate does not have an active CWB ticket, they must be willing to do a weld test with us prior to receiving an offer.
Possesses a solid understanding of welding equipment and welding accessories.
Possesses knowledge of pre-heat and post-heat temperatures and applications.
