Job Title: Transportation Operations Manager

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Operations Manager to join our team at CANADA INC. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our transportation department, ensuring that all logistics and supply chain activities are running smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate daily operations to identify areas for improvement and implement changes as needed.
  • Plan and organize daily operations to ensure that all logistics and supply chain activities are running smoothly and efficiently.
  • Plan for changes to schedules and policies to minimize disruptions to our operations.
  • Prepare reports for senior management to keep them informed of our transportation operations.
  • Recruit and supervise staff to ensure that our transportation department is adequately staffed.
  • Train staff to ensure that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their jobs effectively.
  • Manage finances or budget to ensure that our transportation operations are cost-effective.
  • Arrange for shipping documentation and the tracking and tracing of goods in transit.
  • Ensure transport compliance with regulations to avoid any fines or penalties.
  • Establish and implement policies and standards for the transportation and storage of goods.
  • Negotiate for services and preferential rates with our transportation providers.
  • Oversee the scheduling and dispatching of vehicles and goods.
  • Oversee the setting of transportation service rates and monitor revenue.
  • Organize and maintain inventory to ensure that we have the necessary goods and materials on hand.

Requirements:

  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a transportation or logistics role.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Proactive and organized with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and provide excellent customer service.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:

  • Work in a fast-paced environment with a large workload.
  • Work under pressure to meet deadlines and ensure that our transportation operations are running smoothly.
  • Use a computer and other office equipment to perform job duties.
  • Travel to various locations to meet with transportation providers and other stakeholders.
