Job Overview

The Town of Caledon is a dynamic community nestled between the Hills of the Headwaters, Oak Ridges Moraine, and the Niagara Escarpment. We are seeking an experienced Director, Transportation to join our team and lead transportation planning and implementation activities for our road system.

About the Role

This leadership position involves strategic planning, policy development, and implementation of transportation programs to enhance mobility, safety, and accessibility within the community. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of transportation policies, practices, and regulatory frameworks in Ontario.

Responsibilities
  • Lead transportation planning and implementation activities for the road system in the Town of Caledon
  • Collaborate with municipal departments, government agencies, and the public to create an efficient and sustainable transportation system
  • Manage a multi-disciplinary team and foster positive relationships with stakeholders
  • Develop and implement transportation programs to enhance mobility, safety, and accessibility
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Transportation Engineering, Urban Planning, Public Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
  • Minimum 7-10 years of progressive experience in transportation planning and management
  • At least 5 years of leadership experience, preferably in a municipal government setting
  • Demonstrated experience coaching, motivating, and managing a multi-disciplinary team
  • Strong communication skills and ability to deal effectively with all levels of the Corporation and general public
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience.
