SAP Financial Consultant Job Description

The SAP Financial Consultant plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between business analysts and application development teams. This position is responsible for designing and configuring SAP solutions that translate business needs into development requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work on production support to ensure the current SAP production environment meets business needs, including financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts and Developers to assess technical capabilities, propose solutions, and translate them into technical requirements.
  • Develop test strategies (UAT) with the BA team.
  • Conduct unit testing and support testing teams in translating requirements and use cases into test conditions and expected results.
  • Adhere to existing processes, including the system development life cycle and project management methodology.
  • Contribute to project plans by participating in scoping and estimating of proposed projects.
  • Communicate project status and provide timely escalation of issues to Project managers.
  • Work with internal teams to identify business issues and/or enhancements.
  • Provide innovative solutions that drive process improvements with available hardware, software, databases, and peripherals.
  • Facilitate business requirements gathering process (SAP blueprinting) with the BA team.
  • Collaborate with other Functional leads to understand cross-functional solutions and impact on Projects and support.

Requirements

  • 5+ years' experience in the financial industry.
  • 5+ years' experience in SAP FICO.
  • 5+ years' experience with SAP projects.
  • 3+ years' experience as a SAP Functional Consultant.
  • Experience with SAP Bank Analyzer (an asset).
  • Finance experience.
  • Experience taking ownership and building a functional area.
  • SAP FICO certified (an asset).
  • SDLC project experience participating in blue printing and configuration.
  • Defect Management experience for Postproduction Support.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

This is a permanent hybrid role located in downtown Toronto.
