As an Intermediate or Senior Project Engineer (Electrical Engineering), you will play a key role in the implementation and management of mid-sized to large design and construction projects focused on new and upgrading existing electrical infrastructure.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage assigned capital and investment projects, including developing project requirements, project scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Prepare and deliver on project implementation plans in collaboration with stakeholders and Airport Operations and Maintenance, while acting as a leader in the areas of construction safety and environmental stewardship.
  • Prepare and evaluate Request for Proposal and Tender documents, including scope of work definition, technical requirements, and schedule constraints.
  • Manage design teams to develop contract documents and meet desired project outcomes while adhering to scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Maintain and manage construction contracts, schedules, and project budgets, including forecasting costs and risk management.
  • Liaise with internal Airport Authority departments and external stakeholders throughout the projects, and facilitate discussions, reviews, inspections, and site visits.

The ideal candidate will have a university degree in mechanical or electrical engineering combined with a minimum of five years' experience in the design, construction, or consulting industry, or ten years' experience for the Senior Project Engineer position.

Qualifications:
  • Registered or eligible to register within six months as a Professional Engineer with the Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC).
  • Knowledge of construction industry practices and standards; knowledge of airport operations systems is an asset.
  • Strong project management, organization, and knowledge of contract law and contract administration processes.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft office programs, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project.
  • Effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
