Accountant Role at Sask. Entertainment Group

We are seeking a skilled Accountant to become a vital part of our team at Sask. Entertainment Group (SEG). As an Accountant, you will play a key role in managing the financial aspects of our operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including general ledger entries, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
  • Financial Reconciliation: Perform regular reconciliations of bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
  • Sponsorship Management: Collaborate with the sponsorship team to manage financial aspects of sponsorship agreements, including tracking payments and ensuring timely processing of invoices.
  • Commission Calculations: Calculate commissions to be paid accurately.
  • Sales Support: Maintain sales-related schedules to help our team track their progress and success.
  • Financial Statement Preparation: Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements through the reconciliation of various accounts, providing a clear picture of our financial performance.
  • Auditor Support: Assist in preparing fiscal year-end working papers for auditors, ensuring a smooth audit process.
Requirements:
  • Experience: This is not your first accounting rodeo. We're looking for an experienced accountant, ideally within the sports or entertainment industry.
  • Excel Expertise: You are proficient in creating detailed spreadsheets.
  • Efficiency: Process paperwork efficiently, accurately, and in a timely manner, contributing to the seamless operation of our finance department.
  • Professionalism: Always maintain a high level of professionalism and a positive attitude, fostering a great work environment for you and your colleagues.
  • Versatility: Handle accounting files for various departments, making every day at SEG unique and challenging.
  • Sports Enthusiasm: Background or passion for hockey, lacrosse, or baseball is highly preferred.
