Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Home Building Specialist to join our team at Brown Boys Enterprises Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and preparing work schedules, selecting and employing trade subcontractors, and inspecting their work to ensure quality and conformity with plans and specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and prepare work schedules to ensure timely completion of projects
  • Select and employ trade subcontractors and coordinate their activities to meet project requirements
  • Inspect subcontractors' work to ensure quality and conformity with plans and specifications
  • Develop and implement marketing and advertising strategies to promote our services
  • Manage budgets and perform various trade work during home construction or renovation activities
  • Recruit, hire, and supervise staff and/or volunteers to support project delivery
  • Train staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties
  • Develop and implement business plans to drive growth and profitability
  • Prepare estimates and bids for home construction, renovation, and restoration projects
  • Work with customers, architects, and engineers to ensure plans and specifications meet their needs
  • Prepare and maintain a directory of supplies and trade contractors to support project delivery
  • Ensure that construction permits are obtained and health and safety plans are implemented
  • Develop and implement human resource plans to support staff development and retention
  • Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate daily operations to ensure project success
Requirements
  • College/CEGEP education
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in residential home building or renovation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
  • Knowledge of construction methods and materials
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and procedures
  • Ability to work in a team environment and contribute to the success of the organization
