Senior Full Stack Software Engineer Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to join our development team at Xello. This is an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge web technologies and contribute to the creation of innovative products in the education market.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing database schemas, creating highly performant queries, and maintaining existing schemas and queries. You will also assess tradeoffs and work with designers to arrive at best UI and infrastructure practices.

You will perform code reviews to ensure quality, help triage and solve product and process bugs and issues, and collaborate with product owners and design teams to better understand requirements and accelerate solutions.

The ideal candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, JavaScript skills, experience developing large-scale applications using a JavaScript framework or library, general HTML skills including HTML5 and CSS, and general SQL skills.

We offer a competitive salary of $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on location, plus flexible work arrangements, 4 weeks of vacation, employer-paid health and dental benefits, and a Group RRSP with 3% matching.

Job Requirements
  • Strong understanding of SOLID principles, software patterns, database design, and CSS/HTML5 based layouts and interactions
  • Experience with agile practices, test-driven development, continuous integration, and continuous deployment
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to write readable and reusable code
