Key Responsibilities- Transportation of Goods
You will drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, adhering to designated routes and schedules. Your expertise in navigating through different terrains and conditions is essential to minimize delays and ensure timely delivery.
Vehicle MaintenanceYou will be responsible for performing pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle's safety and efficiency. This includes checking tire pressure, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment. Additionally, you will perform preventive maintenance tasks as required.
Cargo Handling and SecurityYou will load and unload goods, secure cargo, and tarp it to prevent damage during transit. You will also maintain accurate records of cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
Regulatory ComplianceYou must possess a valid Class 1 or A driver's license and adhere to all relevant regulations, including those related to driver logbooks, inspection reports, and trip reports.
Requirements- Driver's License
A valid Class 1 or A driver's license is mandatory.
Experience and SkillsYou should have at least 7 months to less than 1 year of experience as a truck driver, with a strong background in safe driving practices and vehicle maintenance.
Language ProficiencyFluency in English is essential for effective communication with dispatchers and other stakeholders.
Compensation and BenefitsThe estimated annual salary for this role is $70,000 to $90,000 CAD, depending on your level of experience and qualifications.
