About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mortgage Specialist to join our team at BMO. As a Mortgage Specialist, you will play a critical role in helping customers achieve their dream of home ownership by providing expert guidance and support throughout the mortgage application process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cultivate and build relationships with a referral network to generate new mortgage business and increase BMO's share of the home financing market.
  • Actively identify sales opportunities and refer to BMO colleagues as appropriate.
  • Develop and execute effective marketing and sales programs to drive business results.
  • Follow corporate policies, operating directives, legal and regulatory requirements.
What We're Looking For

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual with a strong background in mortgage lending and sales. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Typically between 3 - 5 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • In-depth understanding of the mortgage lending process and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal, sales, customer service, and negotiation skills.
  • Expert knowledge of self-management and teamwork, personal lending, relationship sales and management.
  • Functional knowledge of personal banking, investments, trust services, business and commercial lending, and cash management.
  • Strong knowledge of the broader real estate industry and mortgage market.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Specialized knowledge from education and/or business experience.
  • Verbal & written communication skills - In-depth.

  • Analytical and problem solving skills - In-depth.
  • Influence skills - In-depth.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive compensation package, including a base salary and commission structure. Our total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
