Job Summary

We're seeking a dedicated and caring individual to assist with various nursing care services for patients on our night shift. This role is perfect for those who are passionate about making a difference in people's lives and want to work in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Responsibilities
  • You will receive patient care assignments from our registered nurses (RNs) in charge and initiate delegated tasks based on your demonstrated competence in performing nursing activities for specific patient age groups served.
  • You will collect and document data for admission assessments and reassessments at specified times for our patient population. You will also provide appropriate data to RNs and/or LPNs for analysis and validation of patient responses to care or treatment, as well as when significant changes occur in patient conditions.
  • You will contribute to safety and quality care by relaying information via charting and communicating with team members.
  • You will inform licensed nurses of any changes in patient conditions/needs, patient complaints, and patient/significant other educational needs.
  • You will answer patients' calls for help, take their vital signs, and monitor their behavior and physical condition for progress or deterioration. You will also assist with baths, ambulating, feeding, skin care, personal and oral hygiene, and making occupied and unoccupied beds.
  • You will prepare patients for discharge and accompany them upon dismissal as indicated.
  • You will stock and maintain supplies and equipment in accordance with patient care needs and cost containment. You will utilize time and supplies economically and conscientiously.
  • You will assist with delegated clerical duties such as answering telephones, relaying messages, transcription of physician orders, and preparing and organizing the patient's medical record.
  • You will orient new patients and significant others to the nursing unit.
  • You will perform mechanical and manual operations of equipment as recommended in user manuals, with the ability to recognize common mechanical problems and initiate appropriate corrective action.
  • You will work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
  • You may perform point-of-care testing according to policies and procedures.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A passing grade on the required state exam.
Work Environment

This position requires working in a fast-paced healthcare environment with occasional exposure to infectious diseases and hazardous materials. You will be expected to follow proper infection control procedures and adhere to all safety protocols.

Physical Requirements

This role involves frequent standing and walking, as well as occasional bending, stooping, crawling, kneeling, sitting, squatting, and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements. You will also be required to occasionally lift/carry and push/pull objects weighing 0-25 lbs, and occasionally use vision to judge distances and spatial relationships.

Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $40,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience. Our comprehensive benefits package includes health, dental, and vision insurance, as well as paid time off and opportunities for professional growth and development.
