Your Opportunity:

We are seeking a skilled Therapy Assistant to join our dynamic Rehab team and expand their skills working closely with our Physical Therapists and Occupational Therapists in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work well both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team under flexible demands.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform patient treatments in the inpatient acute care units and outpatient orthopedic splinting clinic.
  • Exercise programs, lifting/transferring of patients, carrying out established treatment interventions, assisting with ADLs, leading group exercise classes, assisting with upper extremity splinting and/or hand therapy program exercises.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies, booking patient appointments, and the maintenance of a clean and safe work environment.

Requirements:

  • Completion of diploma from an accredited post-secondary rehabilitation Therapy Assistant program or equivalent training may be considered.
  • Minimum of 3 months experience with preparation of splinting materials, assisting with fabrication of splints for the upper extremity.
  • Independence with carrying out upper or lower extremity therapy programs assigned by the OT or PT preferred.
