About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team at Four Points & Element Toronto Airport. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities and equipment.

Job Summary: The successful candidate will have experience in maintenance and repair work, including plumbing, electrical systems, and HVAC. You will be expected to perform routine maintenance tasks, respond to emergency situations, and complete projects as assigned.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance and Repair Work: Perform routine maintenance tasks, including replacing ceiling tiles, filters, light bulbs, and patching vinyl. Ensure that all equipment is operational and efficient.

  • Equipment Preparation: Prepare equipment for the next day's work, ensuring that it is in good working order.

  • Efficiency Monitoring: Monitor the efficiency of equipment and electrical systems, making minor repairs and replacements as needed.

  • Furniture Refurbishment: Refurbish furniture and fixtures within guest rooms, including cabinets, tables, chairs, doors, windows, and counters.

  • Site Maintenance: Maintain the front entrance area, parking lot, and street entrance in a clean and presentable manner.

  • Plumbing Systems: Assist in checking and making minor repairs on general plumbing systems and fixtures.

  • Safety and Cleanliness: Maintain the safety and cleanliness of the exterior of the facility, grounds, pool, and exercise/sport facilities.

Requirements: To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Working Knowledge: A working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical skills, preventive maintenance procedures, and a reasonable understanding of building equipment and hand tools.

  • Communication Skills: Strong communication skills are essential for interacting with hotel staff and guests.

  • Attention to Detail: Attention to detail and customer service skills are necessary for this role.

  • Mathematical Skills: Basic math skills are used frequently in this position.
