We are seeking an experienced and skilled Chief Infrastructure Architect to join our team at Etraveli Group. As a key member of our Site Reliability Engineering Team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest levels of stability, uptime, security, maintainability, scalability, and performance of our production systems.

The Role:

As a Senior member of the Site Reliability Engineering Team working closely with Software Engineers, you will be helping them to deploy and operate various production systems and processes. You will be in charge of ensuring the highest levels of stability, uptime, security, maintainability, scalability, and performance of our production systems.

Our infrastructure is hybrid, consisting of both cloud and datacentre-based environments. SRE team members deal with both cloud and on-prem, yet this role requires more focus and skillset on the datacentre-based environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand and utilize various open source technologies
  • Experience with Cisco networking (Nexus, catalyst, UCS, Firepower, Meraki)
  • LAN/WAN networking (routing, switching)
  • Experience with enterprise storage systems (ex. Nimble, Pure)
  • Provision, install, secure, monitor, manage, and maintain Unix/Linux servers on scale using Puppet and Terraform/Kubernetes
  • Build independent web-based tools, microservices, and solutions
  • Write scripts and automation using Golang and Python
  • Configure and manage data sources like Kafka, PostgreSQL, Memcache, Redis, Elasticsearch, etc.
  • Use various tools (Foreman, Puppet, Kubernetes, and Terraform) to orchestrate solutions
  • Understand how various systems work and their dependencies
  • Understand how IT and Infrastructure operations are managed
  • Manage source control using GIT
  • Ensure Unix/Linux standards, processes, procedures, and security best practices are implemented, efficient, effective, and documented
  • Mentor other team members and grow the team's technical level and expertise

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or related technical field experience
  • 5+ years of experience in managing Unix/Linux based infrastructure
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience at least one programming language
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with databases including Kafka, PostgreSQL, Memcache, Redis & Elasticsearch
  • Working knowledge of complex web hosting configuration components, including firewalls, load balancers, web servers, application servers, and databases

  • Solid understanding of networking (L3/L4 routing)

Estimated Salary Range: $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on qualifications and location
