We are seeking a skilled Hydraulic Systems Designer to contribute to the development of innovative hydraulic systems for our diverse product lines. As a key member of our Design Engineering Department, you will be responsible for designing, enhancing, and maintaining hydraulic systems for Versatile equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and develop hydraulic systems, including component selection and comprehensive system design, to meet the requirements of our diverse product lines.
  2. Generate CAD models and detailed drawings for individual components and extensive assemblies.
  3. Collaborate with the R&D shop to lead prototype development, manage component orders, and coordinate prototype builds.
  4. Draft test plans for prototype tractors/systems to ensure design specifications are met, working closely with the Test Engineering team for execution.
  5. Implement design modifications based on feedback from prototype assembly and testing outcomes.
  6. Issue Engineering Change Orders for new and updated designs to ensure seamless transition into production.
  7. Work collaboratively with departments like Production, Purchasing, Service, Quality, and R&D to address current production challenges.
  8. Conduct cost-benefit analyses for various design alternatives to assess their practicality.
  9. Work autonomously and within a team to meet project deadlines consistently.
  10. Engage in hands-on work periods in the shop to aid in assembly and testing processes.
  11. Provide support for the production line as required.

Qualifications:

  1. A degree in Mechanical Engineering or an MET Diploma, with active membership in a recognized professional engineering/technologist association.
  2. A minimum of 3 years in design, with a preference for experience in hydraulics and/or mobile equipment.
  3. Familiarity with ASABE, ISO, and SAE standards.
  4. Proficient CAD skills for creating 3D models and 2D drawings, preferably using Autodesk Inventor 2023.
  5. Competence with PDM systems, such as Autodesk Vault.
  6. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  7. Mechanical acumen and practical hands-on skills are highly regarded.
  8. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  9. The ability to articulate and comprehend complex technical concepts.
  10. The capacity to manage multiple concurrent projects in a dynamic work environment with strict deadlines.
  11. Effective information gathering and organizational abilities.
  12. An innovative mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities.
  13. A robust work ethic.
