Job Title: Machinists Foreman/Woman

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Machinists Foreman/Woman to join our team at Chohan Machine Tools Limited.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our machining department, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. This includes supervising a team of machinists, coordinating production schedules, and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise a team of 5-10 machinists and trades helpers
  • Coordinate production schedules and ensure timely completion of tasks
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations
  • Requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies as needed
  • Set up machines and equipment, and train or arrange for training as required
  • Prepare bids, estimates, and reports as necessary
  • Recruit and hire workers, and carry out related staffing actions
Requirements:
  • 1-2 years of experience in a supervisory role, preferably in a machining or manufacturing environment
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Knowledge of CADD software and CNC machines
  • First Aid Certificate, Occupational Health and Safety Certificate, and WHMIS Certificate
