Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Tanner - Hide and Pelt Processing Specialist to join our team at Ray Wiens. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining various machines, cleaning and preparing hides and pelts, and ensuring the quality of our textile products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and feed machines to process hides and pelts, ensuring efficient and effective production.
  • Clean and prepare hides and pelts for processing, adhering to quality control standards.
  • Mix and apply dyes or chemicals according to established formulae, maintaining accurate records.
  • Notify supervisors or mechanics of equipment malfunctions, ensuring prompt resolution.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning tasks to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
  • Experience: Previous experience in hide and pelt processing or a related field is an asset.
  • Manual dexterity and attention to detail are essential for this role.
  • Ability to distinguish between colors and work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, with regular exposure to odors and potentially hazardous materials. A criminal record check will be required for this position.
